BPSU provided scholarships to twelve students


Bermuda Public Services Union [BPSU] Scholarships were awarded to 12 students.

A spokesperson said, “On Friday, August 30, 2024, under the leadership of President Brother Armel Thomas, General Secretary Brother Kevin Grant and Education Committee Chair Sister Lauren Bell, the Bermuda Public Services Union [BPSU] held its 32nd Annual Education Awards ceremony.

“Reflecting the BPSU’s unwavering commitment to supporting educational opportunities for members and their dependents, the union is proud to announce that since the inception of this initiative, the total value of BPSU education awards has now exceeded $800,000.

“Each year, the association presents twelve awards, including six local/online awards, each valued at $1,500, and six overseas awards, each valued at $3,500.

“This year, BPSU had the honour of presenting the BPSU Education Awards to the following recipients:

Local/Online Rewards [$1,500],

  • Jed Fubler – Bermuda College
  • Yatana Hemmings- Arden University
  • Natasha Kalloo – Edinburgh Napier University
  • Gladwina O’Mara- University of Liverpool
  • Dwensha Pearman- Upstate University of South Carolina
  • Rochelle Woodley- University of Law

foreign awards [$3,500],

  • Christina Arden – University of Dundee
  • Malia Bell- University of West Bristol
  • Aleah Clark- La Sierra University
  • Dimitri Jackson – Borough of Manhattan Community College
  • Sarai Packwood – Nottingham Trent University
  • Teja Watson- St. Francis Xavier University
