“It’s a perfect fit for our platform,” Amit Toren, senior vice president at Kiteworks, told CRN in an interview.
Kiteworks has bought 123FormBuilder, promising to boost the data privacy and compliance tool vendor’s secure data collection capabilities — and the vendor is still looking for more acquisitions following a $456 million growth equity investment.
San Mateo, California-based Kiteworks will add 123FormBuilder’s capabilities around secure web forms and form-driven private content workflows to its offerings. The acquired company also has integrations with Salesforce, Stripe, Shopify, HubSpot and others. Kiteworks did not disclose terms of the transaction.
“It’s a perfect fit for our platform and provides more capabilities for selling and working with our customers and our partners,” Amit Toren, Kiteworks’ senior vice president of corporate and business development, told CRN in an interview.

123FormBuilder, founded in 2008 and based in Romania, offers order forms, surveys, and other types of forms with no-code, drag-and-drop form creation.
According to the vendor, CEO Florin Corneanu will also join Kiteworks. Once the integration is complete, 123FormBuilder users should benefit from a unified platform with tracking, control, and security of sensitive content communications.
Mike Strohl, CEO of Concord, California-based e360—Number 128 included in CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500 and not a Kiteworks partner – told CRN in a recent interview that their security business is growing rapidly, particularly around private browser offerings and keeping an eye on the latest threats to cybersecurity.
“As things continue to change, the threat profile continues to adjust, so that keeps us very busy,” Strohl said.
Kiteworks has a partner program for systems integrators and other solution providers, whose members include Insightly, SoftwareOne, and Guidepoint Security – all Members Among CRN’s 2024 Solution Provider 500.
According to the vendor, 123FormBuilder also has a partner program for Salesforce partners.
Toren said Kiteworks will maintain 123FormBuilder’s existing offerings and support existing customers and partners. He called Kiteworks a “channel-first company” that leaves all service work to partners and said the vendor is profitable with about 500 employees.
“There’s no competition there — it’s just a win-win relationship,” he said.
Additional compliance regulation requirements around the world, from the European Union’s Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) to the U.S. Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program, have helped fuel Kiteworks’ growth. The vendor touts its platform as a way to meet security requirements without having to purchase a variety of single-use tools.
Clients come from a variety of highly regulated industries, including manufacturing, financial services, health care and the legal sector, he said.
“Compliance requirements are increasing,” he said. “We also provide a demonstrable compliance so that if the regulator comes, they can show they are complying with all the requirements. That’s a very unique thing.”
Toren said Kiteworks isn’t worried about competition from big tech vendors adding more security features to existing products. His company offers a single tenant and has no access to customer content, making it more secure than other big vendors’ offerings.
The vendor is still pursuing acquisitions, he said. Kiteworks also continues to invest in organic innovation, including a SafeEdit digital rights management (DRM) offering released in February.
