Child Evangelism Fellowship Inc. and Noire Youth Theatre Company are inviting students to participate in a creative success program called âBlueprintâ on Saturday [Sept 7] 8.30pm-3.30pm at Willowbank Resort in Somerset.
A spokesperson said, “On Saturday, September 7, at Willowbank Resort in Somerset, 8:30-3:30 p.m., Child Evangelism Fellowship Inc. and Noir Youth Theatre Company invite students in Primary VII and VIII, Middle School M1-M3, and first-time students at Cedarbridge Academy and Berkeley Institute to participate in a creative roadmap to success program called ‘Blueprint.’ The program is aimed at helping students create their own personal roadmap to a successful 2024 school year. The program is free. Lunch will be provided.”
“Angelica Marshall, a well-known teacher, parent and BUT Executive Member on staff at Francis Patton Primary, will host the “Blueprint.” As one of our facilitators, she believes that setting realistic goals, developing an action plan and creating ways to track, measure and celebrate student achievements along this path to success with accountability partners equates to favorable outcomes for each participant.”
“The highlight of the program will be a performance by Fire Vein, who have won the hearts of young people across the island and who have been honored by the Ministry of Culture. Their song ‘One Blood’ presented as an animation promotes that love is the answer and can be viewed on the internet. Other successful artists facilitating the workshop sessions are professional singer and musician Shardae Lee, former President of the Noir Youth Theatre Company, Director of Staff Development and Instruction, comedian Gina Davis and Patricia O’Connor, retired para-educator and nursery school teacher, choir director and worship leader.

St. George Parish Council has awarded scholarships to Zion Minors, Asia Seymour and Shee-Lah Thomas.

Department of Economic Development [EDD] Certificates of completion were awarded to 22 participants of the 2024 Fintech Training Program.
âDesigned to equip Bermudians with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the rapidly evolving fintech industry, this initiative, now in its third year, has grown in popularity and the number of participants has doubled,â a Government spokesperson said.
Premier and Finance Minister David Burt said, âBermuda is recognised as a world-leading jurisdiction in providing regulatory clarity to digital finance. As this sector continues to expand, Bermudians must be equipped with the skills and knowledge required to take advantage of these opportunities.â
The spokesperson said, âThe three-month-long FinTech training program conducted by EDD in collaboration with the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and industry leaders includes three major components:
âOnline FinTech Courses: Participants completed globally recognized FinTech courses, primarily two courses offered by the Center for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship [CFTE]Which provided a strong foundation for understanding how technology is modernizing financial systems. Professional Development Modules: DWD offered twelve self-paced courses covering critical skills such as project management, cybersecurity, and digital citizenship, preparing participants for real-world challenges in a technology-driven environment.
âNetworking opportunities: Participants interacted with industry leaders and executives from local tech and fintech companies, gaining invaluable insights and building professional relationships.â
CFTE Co-Founder Tram-Anh Nguyen congratulated the graduates, saying, âI extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the students who completed the CFTE FinTech 360 and RegTech programmes. These courses have equipped them with the skills and knowledge to excel in the rapidly evolving financial sector, covering the latest trends in finance, technology, FinTech and RegTech. I am delighted that they are now ready to embark on their FinTech journey and join a global community of practitioners. Graduates of the program also shared their positive experiences. Jeff Lewis said, âThe FinTech program represents a cutting-edge learning experience, thoughtfully designed and well-managed from start to finish.â Vincent Darrell added, âAs an entrepreneur, it is important to stay informed about the evolving FinTech landscape in Bermuda. This program has been an eye-opener.â

A charity golf tournament resulted in a $7,000 scholarship being awarded to student Shiloh Stevens. Somersfield Academy Alumni.
A spokesperson said, “Beta Dice, a network focused on enhancing social development opportunities on the island and run by alumni of Somersfield Academy, awarded its second scholarship through funds raised at its annual golf fundraiser held at the St Regis Golf Course in Bermuda.
“The network, run by Marquis and Jai Burgess, Kareem Crary and family member Zahn Richardson, had a total of 19 teams participate, reflecting the enthusiasm of last year’s event. Notable alumni and volunteers played a key role in the organization and execution.”
