Parks Department, Bermuda Youth Library, and author Dr David Chapman Invite families to the grand opening of the new Botanical Garden Storywalk on Saturday, November 23.
A government spokesperson said, “The festivities will begin with a ceremony at 10:15 am, followed by a story time at the Celebration Lawn at 10:30 am.
“The Botanical Garden Storywalk provides a free, enjoyable and accessible opportunity for families to promote physical activity as well as a love of reading. Special book, Daddy and I Explore…The Farm! By Dr David Chapman, visitors will be guided on a scenic route through the gardens.
“This initiative builds on the successful launch in May, where Storywalk featured Abigail’s Dream Adventures by Bermudian author Karen E. Franks.
“Originally created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, the StoryWalk concept combines the joy of reading with the beauty of the outdoors, creating an educational activity for families.
“The Parks Department and the Bermuda Youth Library are thrilled to continue offering this innovative experience that promotes early literacy and encourages families to enjoy the natural beauty of the Botanical Gardens.
